New Customs Submission Form
May 21st, 2008Over the past few years our customs section has grown more than I ever imagined it could back in 2004 when I started it. In particular, the gallery has taken off and become one of the most popular sections. I thoroughly enjoy interacting with all of the customizers and take pride in giving them a place to display their work. That said, posting pictures is a very repetitive and time consuming process. Today I created a submission form that allows people to post their own customs (pending approval of course). This will:
- Make it easier on customizers. Instead of emailing a bunch of photos and going back and forth with me about the player name, website link, etc they can just fill out the form and be done with it.
- Save me a ton of time cropping and uploading photos.
- Standardize the submissions a bit. For now, that means nothing. Down the road however, storing the info in a database will allow us to easily create things like customizers profiles that display just their work. The potential for building a “customizers social network” is now starting to come into place, if that’s what we decide to end up doing.
