New Customs Submission Form

May 21st, 2008

Over the past few years our customs section has grown more than I ever imagined it could back in 2004 when I started it. In particular, the gallery has taken off and become one of the most popular sections. I thoroughly enjoy interacting with all of the customizers and take pride in giving them a place to display their work. That said, posting pictures is a very repetitive and time consuming process. Today I created a submission form that allows people to post their own customs (pending approval of course). This will:

  1. Make it easier on customizers. Instead of emailing a bunch of photos and going back and forth with me about the player name, website link, etc they can just fill out the form and be done with it.
  2. Save me a ton of time cropping and uploading photos.
  3. Standardize the submissions a bit. For now, that means nothing. Down the road however, storing the info in a database will allow us to easily create things like customizers profiles that display just their work. The potential for building a “customizers social network” is now starting to come into place, if that’s what we decide to end up doing.
