Unique Photo-Op Booth at Sun Times Show

By Adam McFarland | Posted at 6:11 pm | Filed Under Autographs, Card Shows

Schwartz Sports - a co-promoter of the Chicago Sun Times Show taking place this weekend - is offering a unique opportunity to fans:  get an 8 x 10 picture taken with an athlete, then have the athlete sign the photo of you and the athlete.  Not all signers at the show are available for this service, but the list is pretty long and includes some big names:  Barry Sanders ($199), Charles Woodson ($149), Gayle Sayers ($89), Marshall Faulk ($149), and Mike Schmidt ($149).

No, it’s certainly not cheap, but given the choice, I’d definitely rather display a photo of myself and (insert famous athlete) signed by (insert famous athlete) than just a signed photo of (insert famous athlete).

I’ll admit that I haven’t been to a large auto show like this one in quite some time, so maybe I’m out of the loop.  But I’ve never heard of such a thing.  Kudos to Schwartz Sports for offering up such a unique service.  If you’re in Chicago this weekend, definitely swing by and let me know how well the process works and how good the photos come out….I’m curious.

By the way - why is Gayle Sayers so cheap compared to the rest?

I’ve been seeing more and more of the photo op thing. The TriStar autograph pavilion at last year’s “National” had the photo booth. And the Triumph shows have started to have this type of photo booth too.

Although, I can’t remember if the athelete signed that photo at those shows. I think that might be new.
