Price Guide Downtime Resolved

March 15th, 2008

Earlier this morning it was brought to my attention that our Price Guide was not returning prices for the majority of cards and collectibles. After looking into it, I noticed that almost all eBay data was being filtered out. I was able to trace the culprit to a minor change I made several months ago that - for some reason - just started negatively impacting results. Within about an hour we were up and running again and from what I can tell the prices are now incorporating all of the data available to us.

First and foremost, I want to thank loyal user Pete L for notifying me of the issue. I hadn’t used the Price Guide much this week, so I did not notice the sudden drop in results (which looks like it has been taking place for at least 48 hours).

I’ve contacted Pete and many other active users from the past week and offered them free lifetime accounts for the inconvenience. If you recently canceled your account or unsuccessfully tried this week to price items, you can contact me at ajm [at] sportslizard [dot] com and I will honor that offer to anyone who contacts us.

Again, I apologize for any inconvenience that this error may have caused.

Have a great weekend everyone!
