With Barry Bonds’ 755th home run fast approaching, McFarlane creator and hard-core home run ball collector Todd McFarlane was asked to give a tour of his collection room for the CBS Evening News. Check out the interview by clicking on the image below:

Two things stand out to me when watching the video:

1. Todd’s enthusiasm, passion, and love for collecting is blatantly evident. Which is just one of the many reasons why McFarlane Toys consistently puts out one of the best collectible available today (in my opinion).
2. If you paid $3 million for a ball, wouldn’t you protect it better? My man, pick yourself up a few ball-cubes for like $5 a pop. Maybe Todd knows something about ball protection that I don’t, but everyone I’ve known who collected balls was meticulous about protecting them….certainly not handling them as loosely as Todd did.
