Welcome to the new SportsLizard!
March 22nd, 2007I’m proud to announce the new and improved SportsLizard. Among the many, many changes:
- A cleaner look that’s more modern and much easier to navigate.
- Free selling for everyone in an effort to get as many collectibles listed as possible to make YOUR collecting experience better - check out Sell.SportsLizard.com for more details
- This blog, which will replace the news, newsletter, and PR sections. Archives of the old material can be found on the sidebar, and if you’re a newsletter subscriber you will automatically be subscribed to this blog.
- The announcement that we are building the hobbies first free, live price guide. Using data from our marketplace and sources like Yahoo’s search data, we are going to give you an accurate snapshot of supply and demand of an item. More information at Prices.SportsLizard.com
- Subtle improvements like “popular searches” on the homepage and remembering your previous searches to show you relevant featured items. These came from studying our 2+ years of data to see how collectors really like to browse the web. So as opposed to seeing the categories we define on the homepage, YOU define the categories based on what’s most popular.
- Abolishment of less popular sections (like books and movies) to focus on our core - collectibles
Please be patient with us over the next week or so as we complete the rollout of this new and exciting site.

Mike,
I think you’re talking about a Jackie Robinson Starting Lineup figure where they printed some withe the number 44. It’s in the 1994 Cooperstown Baseball set and books in Tuff Stuff at $350 (as opposed to $15 for the base figure). Regarding the number of figures available – I was unable to find an exact number, although my guess is that it’s less than 1,000. A seller on SLU.net http://www.slu.net/cgi-local/ubbcgi/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=1;t=000172 claimed to have six at once, so I think there’s likely many more than the 8 – 10 that you mentioned.
Hope that helps!
